Happy Spring!

On an even greater note The WASN Skate Fest 2000 is gaining in popularity.
There is a very important change.
Many have received post cards with Kelly Mathews on the front. On the back it says NYC Event, Chelsea Piers. Well I have sent out announcements that we have decided to go back to Riverside Skate Park, NYC. Many skaters agree it is a better park, but most importantly a friendlier park... It's still the same date August 5th.

The second stop was going to be within Chris Edwards' D=Tour out in California, but unfortunately Chris had to change that leg of the Tour. Likewise, the WASN stop in Northern California was canceled. He says that the D=tour will be making an appearance out on the West Coast around the End of August and early September around when the ASR trade show happens in San Diego. Stay tuned for new D=Tour dates and information.
I am currently sending out new material via snail mail about the event. If your address has changed or you would like to be placed on our mailing list please send us your info so you may receive the latest about the WASN Skate Fest 2000.

podium st pete Just got back from the St. Pete X-Trials in Florida and got confirmations from Fabiola, Fallon Heffernon and Robin Miller that they will attend. I was hanging with Carry Foyrs, who was the head judge at the WASN skate Fest last year, and we envied those able to skate That Street Course! More rails this year! The ASA street course is usually all ramps. They even had more easy access ledges. This can only mean more impressive skating from the girls.

Fab signing autographs Other girls who skated the X-Games trials were Anika Winter from Germany, Kelly Mathews from New Jersey, Sayaka Yabe from Japan and Michele Scott from Canada who unfortunately broke her wrist. Get well soon Mich, we are all wishing you well. Although the heat was intense and the sun beat down on us the who time these girls represented.

WASN Skate Fest 2000 sponsor up date includes Mac Gear Clothing company and Sobe Healthy Refreshments. Mac Gear has the coolest clothes. You won't see them in a typical skate shops, but you can find them in cool clothing stores in Malls like Hot Topic, Gadzooks, Mr. Rags, Yellow Rat Bastard and in NYC, 8th Street Lab.

Mac GearNews Flash: Mac Gear wants to put together a girls team. They will be at the WASN Skate Fest 2000 looking for skaters that can best represent their clothes. More details will come when we get closer to the event.
Sobe sponsors skaters at the top levels. At this time they are interested in a top girl pro that skates in the X-Games and Gravity Games. So if you are a top pro and are interested contact me ASAP.

Eulogy, Clif Bar, Daily Bread Mag, The Women’s Sports Foundation. and, of course, the D=Tour have also come on board!!

For more information on directions to the event and pre-registering click here. Well, if you haven't already heard the Hermosa Beach stop on the ASA pro Tour will have a girls amateur qualifier. This is another chance for the top amateur girls to become an ASA pro skater other than their finals at the end of the season. Girls if you are going out for this just remember, the ASA course is huge. At this time I haven't heard of any top amateur vert girls but if you are out there, here is your chance.
