The 4th Annual BBC Snowboard and Music Festival was held on April 17th , 1999, at Sierra-At-Tahoe, CA. They had over 7,000 boarders and spectators come out and party this year!
The BBC Snowboard and Music Festival combines pro snowboard exhibitions,
world-class music acts, and educational and awareness exhibits for a one day
blow-out. Shannon Dunn,
Tina Basich, and Michelle Taggart - the leaders in Women's Snowboarding - have returned from the Winter X Games to participate in this worthwhile Event.
There were also over eighty participating industry companies, including Burton Snowboards, Vans, and Salomon/Bonfire sponsoring the event - doing free product demos, and hosting major product raffle that included over $50,000 in snowboard merchandise.
The BBC depends on sponsors, event ticket sales, on-site product raffle and sale, volunteers, and donations.
Shannon Dunn - "I'm going to Boarding for Breast Cancer because it's a great event. It's an opportunity to give back--to help the Breast Cancer Fund and remember Monica Steward."
Tina Basich - "I look forward to this event all year because it's a time when all my friends get together--the fact that it's a cause I strongly believe in and support makes it a very special day."
The money raised goes to The Breast Cancer Fund and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Breast Cancer Fund's mission is to eliminate deaths from breast cancer in our lifetime and make sure women living with breast cancer receive the best available care and support. They are working to find ways to reduce breast cancer--through earlier and better detection, more effective, less debilitating treatments, and prevention.
In its first three years, BBC has donated over $237,000 to these organizations.
